Our sneak peek at the Vancouver Christmas Market's 10th Anniversary Celebration last night did not disappoint. So many returning favourites & fun new additions for families AND much appreciated kid-free date nights! It's been a family tradition of ours for many years now, and the season's pass allows us to go multiple times over the holidays.

Since 2010, the Vancouver Christmas Market has delighted Vancouverites and visitors with authentic German-inspired festivities. Combining colourful décor, authentic gifts, sweet & savoury food and drink, as well as family entertainment, the yuletide celebration creates the perfect atmosphere to mix & mingle with friends & family, enjoy a quick drink after work, and observe a wide variety of cultural activities, old world confections, and seasonal entertainment. We were especially delighted to get the chance to speak with the market's Founder & CEO, Malte Kluetz, about the big dreams he had for the market over a decade ago, and to celebrate the immense achievement of seeing his dreams come to life and flourish over the years!

The Vancouver Christmas Market has grown to over 55,000 square feet at the celebrated Jack Poole Plaza in downtown Vancouver, and highlights include the newly expanded Lovers’ Lane; the return of the WunderBAR, offering a brand new menu and VIP experience in a heated, wintry setting; the newly improved Winterdeck featuring lit up seats, heaters, and stunning views of the North Shore; live entertainment from The Gingerbread Men on the Christmas Pyramid’s ‘Flying Stage’ perched 10 feet high above the market; and so much more!

We were treated to a taste of the market's culinary delights, sampling a beautifully crafted menu of new and popular fair. On the savoury front, we were blown away by the new Vegan Gulasch at Das Gulasch Haus and Wild Mushroom Soup at Taste the Wild. And favourites in the sweets department included Sweet Langosh flatbread covered with nutella, strawberries & whipped cream at Das Langosh Haus, and Transylvanian Chimney Cakes. Top it all off with Christmas cocktails and hot apple cider, and a visit to the Vancouver Christmas Market is cozy, festive, and smile-inducing all around. A holiday event not to be missed for newcomers and repeat visitors alike!

While the Vancouver Christmas Market is great for the whole family all season long, parents should take note of their Kids Day on December 1st with lots of extra activities planned for children, and of this year's special Holly & Jolly Combo pass that gives you admission to both the Vancouver Christmas Market and Christmas at FlyOver Canada right next door!
