Where Have all
the buffalo gone?

Take your family on a powerful cultural journey with Where Have All the Buffalo Gone? at the Gateway Theatre— a moving and engaging live performance that brings Métis history to life through storytelling, music, and imagination.  Designed to resonate with both kids and adults, the show weaves together Métis stories, lively fiddle music, and a life-like buffalo puppet to explore the birth of the Métis Nation, the impact of colonization, and the deep cultural significance of the buffalo. It’s a meaningful way to spark conversations, introduce children to Indigenous history, and experience theatre that educates as much as it entertains — all in a welcoming, family-friendly setting. Recommended for ages 9+.

Richmond Children's
Arts Festival

Celebrate BC Family Day with a full day of creativity, connection, and free family fun at the Children’s Arts Festival in Richmond. Held at the Richmond Cultural Centre and Richmond Public Library, this much-loved annual event invites families to explore hands-on arts activities, enjoy live performances, and spark imagination together. From music and visual arts to storytelling and performing arts, kids can try something new while parents soak up the joy of watching creativity come alive. With free performances and drop-in workshops throughout the day, it’s an easy, inspiring way to spend Family Day making memories — no registration, no pressure, just playful learning and time together.

LOVE LIGHTS AT CAPILANO SUSPENSION BRIDGE
This February, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park glows with family love during Love Lights, a magical winter experience that’s perfect for making memories together. 💖 Designed for families, friends, and all kinds of connection, the park comes alive with illuminated displays — from crossing the iconic Suspension Bridge surrounded by twinkling lights to exploring the sparkling Cliffwalk beneath the rainforest canopy. Extended evening hours from February 12–15 make it easy to plan a cozy family outing, complete with fun photo moments (including a playful 3D heart!) and limited-time seasonal treats at The Cliff House Restaurant. Before heading home, stop by the Trading Post for sweet souvenirs and keepsakes — a lovely way to remember a special family night out.
Sea to Sky Gondola
Family Fun Nights

When mountain magic meets family time, something special happens. Family Fun Nights at the Sea to Sky Gondola invite families to swap their usual Saturday routine for an evening of play, laughter, and connection high above Squamish. With extended hours, kids can warm up inside the Summit Lodge with games, head outside for tubing under the lights, gather around an open fire, or take part in fun scavenger hunts that encourage exploring together. One of our favourite perks? Kids eat free with every adult meal, making it an easy, feel-good family night out. Just a scenic gondola ride away and included with a lift ticket or membership, Family Fun Nights are the kind of simple, joyful tradition that brings everyone closer — no rushing, no screens, just time together in nature.
