COVID-FRIENDLY SCHOOL FUNDRAISER IDEAS

In Family, Holidays, Parenting, School, by Healthy Family Living TeamLeave a Comment

COVID has created huge challenges for fundraisers by seriously limiting the types of fundraising efforts most schools, preschools & day cares in BC can run this year. Most school fairs, hot lunches, bake sales and carnivals have been cancelled. Adding to the challenges are the fact that parents are not allowed inside schools to help with programs. Hot lunches have been a mainstay of PAC fundraisers and most are now cancelled due to the need for parent volunteers. Food handling is not allowed, so bake sales, hot dog days, popcorn days are also being cancelled at most schools.  PACs will need to be creative for the 2020/21 fundraising year.

For this year in particular, a great option is to set your school up with simple fundraising programs through businesses where parents shop already, with a percentage of the sales being given back to the school. All the PAC needs to do is get the fundraiser set up with the company, share the links & promo codes with the parents, and spread the word through PAC communications so parents know what steps to take to support their school.

As a prime example, our team has been ordering freezer meals from Well Fed Studio in North Vancouver for years, and we only just found out that the whole time our school could have been earning a percentage of our spend if we had included our school code with each of our orders!

We have pulled together covid-friendly school fundraiser ideas that could help your school reach their fundraising goals this year. All of these ideas are online with delivery to each family's home, so no parent volunteers are needed in person at the school. The companies below are set up for simple & contactless delivery which is perfect for physical distancing and pandemic protocols. PACs do such great work for our schools and we want to make things a bit easier for them! Be sure to share these ideas with your school!
